American Airlines - Flight 1735 Review from Detroit, Michigan

We were on a recent flight from Fort Lauderdale to Charlotte in first class. The flight was delayed multiple times and eventually canceled after several hours with no reasonable explanation given. We had to travel to Miami to catch Another flight. They clearly OU compensation when A delay is greater than four hours. They consider miles and coupons appropriate compensation which they are not. These were first class tickets and we were treated like garbage. If you can't take care of your best customers you can't take care of any customers. We expect compensation in some monetary form but we settled for 50,000 miles refunded each which they refused. They only offered 10,000 miles each or a $200 coupon for a future flight which I will never use. I think a class-action lawsuit is appropriate for anyone who is on this flight since it was not weather related on September 2 2016. They need to be forced to comply with their own policies this is a disgrace.

Any delay or cancellation over a set amount of hours requires compensation this is in writing. Do your homework before spouting off about things on here

Comply with their own policies?Isnt what they did by offering points or a voucher. No us airline is required by law to offer compensation when flights or delayed or cancelled..because SAFETY is what the dot and faa worry about. If a flight is delayed or cancelled for any reason it is for saftey bottom line.If airlines had to compensate for delays safety may be compermised. So just be thankful the airlines is,as a courtesy, offering something.

Sigh.. There won't be a class action lawsuit as most people affected have already moved on with their lives and could care less about getting free stuff from the airlines.

Sorry but you're probably the only loser still worrying about this.
