The wait time to speak with someone is beyond ridiculous. Wait time of 2 hours to book a flight is something I have never experienced with any other airline and hope I never do again. I generally fly Delta and Southwest, but the few times that I fly AA, I undoubtedly experience something to sour my feelings about American. Between the bumped flights, forced layovers and the wait times to speak with customer service, I am all but *** done with this airline

Change reservation

AA unilaterally changed the Ticket from LAX to BOS on 7/31 for my son. My son was in a Group and I had to shift him to Jet Blue and pay $285 for the ticket. I could not reach AA as it was showing 4 hours wait time for customer service.

Lot baggage

Our bags were lost in transit and refound 24 hours later and delivered. My son was out of diapers and him and my husband had no clothes for the next day. I understand this occasionally happens but we then had to pay for our bags on the way home and would like a credit for this. We are Alaska airline flyers and the American airline is the sister airline. However when we fly Alaska we do not have to pay for bags but because out of Pensacola Florida we had to catch American we were charged for each bag.

Your post has two things going on. One, your bag was lost for 24 hours.

Two, you are complaining about a baggage charge from American.

You have to be an elite member in the program that Alaska/American offers to have baggage fees waived. Even if your luggage wasn’t lost for 24 hours, you still would have had to pay.

No FOOL, you can't bring lithium batteries in your checked luggage. Go to the airline's site for an easy answer.

Check the FAA or TSA for more info. Stop being stupid...

American Airlines - Flight change due to full flight

I fly with American all the time, Ive flown 24 flights in the past 5 months.. all with American..

since corona virus they now send out full flight notification emails.. they have changed my flight with no fee or flight change difference MULTIPLE times in the last couple months FOR FREE, given I switched my flight to a day later.. but now I just switched it for 2 days later because they sent me an email saying it would be a full flight and my asthma is flaring today and they charged me $256 total.. wtf?!

When there was literally an option to change it for free yesterday.. American, dont change for free sometimes and then at cost difference others. So for my boyfriend and i to get home ONE WAY I just spend $550 total..

dont ever change your flight last minute people they wont work with you, especially when they are the ones that notified YOU that they would change it for free!! I’ll spend my money flying with Alaska.

Asking for a refund

On April 11 a number of flights were cancelled due to inclement weather in Tampa and Orlando. All of us going to these places were told to get into line 1 with no explanation why we were in that line. Most people knew their flight was cancelled because it was on the monitor. My flight 2624 was not on monitor and was to leave at 9:00 pm. I have gone through this very same thing with American, in the past. No or little communication. Very bad customer service. I ended up renting a car and driving home. Arrived about the same time as taking your plane.

Change flight

I can't get anyone on the phone. I call and wait on hold from 2 to 4 hours. I am calling ahead of time so that I can have the current ticket I purchase for further date ahead as I was told with paying a lower difference, yet I can't even get anyone on the phone to assist me.
